Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) is part of Official Development Assistance (ODA) of the Government of Japan. It is offered for developing countries with the aim of actively contributing to the world peace, stability and prosperity through both bilateral and multilateral channel.
The GGP aims to achieve economic and social development in developing countries based on the philosophy of ensuring human security, and providing the necessary funding for relatively small-scale activities in a way that directly benefit inhabitants at a grass-roots level. The latter is commonly referred to as “KUSANONE” in Japan i.e. “Kusa” means “grass” and “Ne” means “roots” in Japanese.
